Points are worth one cent when redeemed as statement credit and a little more when redeemed for AAA purchases. This card has no annual fee.

Why 5 Stars?
Regular APR
The normal APR of 14.99% – 24.99% (Variable) is average. Pretty good for a rewards card, but not excellent.
4 Stars
Intro APR
There is an Intro APR of 0% for 12 months on purchases and balance transfers, as long as the transfer is made in the first 60 days of opening the account. This is a great Intro APR. But there is a caveat to be aware of with balance transfers, and this goes for all balance transfer cards.
If you make a transfer and then make a purchase, you have to pay the minimum payment and on top of that pay off the purchase in that billing period to avoid interest. Because you have to know your minimum payment to get this right, most people should use a different card for purchases.

Fees
There’s no annual fee and no foreign transaction, but there’s no break on balance transfer or cash advance fees. Plus, there’s up to 29.99% penalty interest, depending on your credit, if you make a late payment.

Perks
Free cash is good – especially $150 statement credit after $750 in purchases in first 90 days. 3x rewards on AAA purchases and travel and 2x rewards in gas, grocery store, wholesale club, and drugstore purchases covers almost every major category of everyday purchase people use credit cards for.
Putting aside the AAA rewards for a second, if all you did was spend $1000 on gas, $3000 on groceries and wholesale club purchases, and $1000 on drugstore purchases, you would get $50 in statement credit. Not bad for a no annual fee card. The card is a Visa Signature too, so it offers a long list of benefits.

Overall
The rewards are pretty good and will be even sweeter if you are already comfortable making purchases through the AAA.com website. There’s no break on interest or penalty interest, so keep an eye on your balance and hopefully you won’t have to deal with interest.
