The card comes with complimentary Silver status, but if you spend $20,000 on eligible purchases on your Card in a calendar year you can earn an upgrade to Hilton Honors Gold status through the end of the next calendar year, which allows you to earn 8 more points per $1 you spend with Hilton. You get 10 base points for being a member and 8 more points for Gold Status. Even when you account for the value of Hilton points being lower than average – about one half cent per point or less – in total you are receiving an excellent hotel rewards rate.
