Is U.S. Bank Cash 365 American Express Card worth it?
U.S. Bank Cash 365 American Express is a great card for U.S. bank customers or significant spenders who want to get unlimited cash back without thinking about categories or paying an annual fee. The card is not just available to U.S. bank customers, but if you hold a U.S. bank account, your cash back may be deposited directly into your account. Cardholders get unlimited 1.5% cash back on every purchase.
Note that although there is no penalty APR, like most credit cards, U.S. Bank Cash 365 has late fees. Unfortunately, there have been consumer reports of the auto pay feature being challenging to set up, so it’s important to make sure you dedicate time to set it up correctly or manually pay off your balance each month.
Cash back is redeemed as a statement credit, as a deposit made to your U.S. Bank Savings, Checking, or Money Market Account, or as a minimum $20 U.S. Bank Rewards prepaid card.
There are a number of competitor consumer cards that also offer 1.5% unlimited cash back with no annual fee, such as Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards, HSBC Cash Rewards Mastercard, and American Express Cash Magnet, as well as credit union cards like PenFed Power Cash Rewards Visa Signature and Navy Federal cashRewards Credit Card.
If you are an existing U.S. Bank customer, you might choose U.S. Bank Cash 365 and deposit your funds directly in your U.S. Bank bank account. Otherwise, you might go with a competing bank. Additionally, if you spend less than $48,000 per year and you use and maximize a 5% cash back card that has rotating cash back categories, such as Discover it Cash Back, Discover it Student Cash Back, NHL Discover it, or Chase Freedom, you would get more cash back than using U.S. Bank Cash 365, even in the second year.
With this in mind, if you have a prior relationship with U.S. Bank or spend $4000 per month or more, U.S. Bank Cash 365 American Express is a great cash back card for you.

- Earn a $150 bonus after you apply online and spend $500 in eligible net purchases within the first 90 days
